Upcoming Events
Chithirai Punaivu, our school’s art festival, was a truly memorable and inspiring experience for me. For four days, our campus was filled with colour, creativity, and excitement. Walking through the exhibition spaces and seeing the incredible artworks created by students made me feel proud to be part of a school that celebrates imagination and artistic expression.
On the first day, we had the wonderful opportunity to interact with Bhagwan Chavan, a renowned abstract artist. Listening to him speak about his journey as an artist was fascinating. He explained how an idea or a feeling can slowly take shape on a canvas and turn into something meaningful. What I found most interesting was how he described abstract art as a way to express emotions rather than simply paint objects. His words encouraged me to look at art with a more open mind and think about the stories behind every artwork.
The second day brought a very different but equally exciting perspective when Anandan Damodaran, a Principal Producer from the gaming industry, addressed us. His session showed us how creativity and technology can come together to create immersive gaming experiences. I had never really thought about how much art, design, and storytelling go into developing a game. Learning about the process of designing characters, environments, and interactive worlds made me realise how wide the field of creative careers can be.
On the third day, Mr Akhilesh Kathamuthu, a Director of Photography, spoke to us about the power of photography. He shared how a single photograph can capture emotions, moments, and stories that words sometimes cannot express. Listening to him talk about lighting, framing, and perspective made me look at photographs differently. It inspired many of us to think about how we could use a camera to capture the beauty around us.
One of the most impressive aspects of Chithirai Punaivu was the dedication of our student volunteers. They played an important role in making the exhibition lively and interactive. I admired the way they confidently explained the artworks to students, teachers, parents, and visitors who came to see the exhibition. Their enthusiasm and pride in presenting the artworks made the experience even more engaging for everyone. Watching them interact with visitors also showed how art can bring people together in meaningful conversations.
Walking through the exhibition was itself a special experience. Every corner displayed creativity — from paintings and sculptures to mixed-media artworks , carpentry works and ceramic pieces. Each piece reflected the effort, patience, and imagination of the students who created it. It was inspiring to see how art can communicate ideas, emotions, and stories in so many different ways.
Overall, Chithirai Punaivu was not just an art exhibition but a celebration of creativity and learning. It gave us the chance to meet inspiring professionals, appreciate different forms of art, and see the incredible talents within our own school community. I feel grateful to have been part of such a meaningful event, and it has definitely encouraged me to observe the world more creatively and express my ideas through art.

The leaves on the branch
Swaying along with the wind.
She sits on the bench,
Awaiting her friend.
The tree speaks to her
With a gentle, soft tone:
“Who do you await
so eagerly under my shade?”
The girl turns to the tree
With a smile upon her face:
“A dear friend of mine,
Who has something I might like.”
The tree rustles its branches,
Leaves falling tenderly to the ground.
Curious to know what the friend brings.
“Oh, what could it be?
A silver chain, perhaps,
Shining and glittering
under the sun’s glow?”
The girl laughed sweetly
as she turned away:
“I was bantering around,
I am here to meet you.”
