Looking outside, all I see is
A concrete jungle, not a single tree.
Oh, how I wish to escape this dreadful land,
And find a place not quite so bland.
As I lay asleep upon my bed
On a dark and stormy night,
I dream about a faraway isle,
Full of life and light.
Lush green trees I see in this dream of mine,
With faraway mountains and a pond so divine.
I hear frogs croaking here and there,
And blooming flowers everywhere.
But as morning comes, the dream fades away,
Grey, dull walls greet the day.
As the concrete jungle stands tall and strong,
I’m still in this world where I don’t belong.
