We are proud to congratulate Aadhira V of Grade 12 S3 on her participation in the prestigious Research Science Initiative – Chennai Summer Programme (RSIC SP) 2026 held at IIT Madras from 29th April to 3rd June 2026.
This esteemed programme brings together talented young minds to experience scientific research, innovation, and advanced learning under the mentorship of renowned academicians and researchers.
Aadhira's selection and successful participation reflect her dedication, intellectual curiosity, and passion for scientific exploration. We applaud this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success as she pursues excellence in academics, research, and all her future endeavours.
The Theatre students of The Pupil Saveetha Eco School had the unique opportunity to visit the shooting location of a feature film produced by K7 Studio Productions, under the production of Vijay K. Chellaiah and the direction of Sudama Krishnan. During the visit, students interacted with renowned stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan and popular actors Santhanam and Redin Kingsley.
The educational visit offered students valuable insights into the world of filmmaking. They observed the pre-visualisation and execution of stunt sequences, witnessed live film production, and learned about the meticulous planning and safety measures involved in performing action scenes. An engaging demonstration showcased how stunts are carefully choreographed and executed without compromising the safety of the performers.
Students also explored the distinctions between stage acting and cinema acting, gaining an understanding of why the stage is considered the actor's medium while cinema is the director's medium. The session further introduced them to the concepts of Computer Graphics (CG), Visual Effects (VFX), and Practical Effects, enhancing their appreciation of the technical aspects of filmmaking.
The visit provided an enriching blend of learning and real-world exposure, allowing students to interact with industry professionals and experience the collaborative process behind film production. The day concluded with refreshments and memorable interactions, making it a truly rewarding experience.
The school extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Saveetha Rajesh, Director, for providing this exceptional experiential learning opportunity, and expresses heartfelt appreciation to Dhilip Subbarayan for organising the exclusive behind-the-scenes experience that broadened the students' understanding of theatre and cinema.
Celebrating Creativity Through Character Conversations
The NLF Reading Challenge 2026–27 encourages young readers to explore the world of books while celebrating meaningful children's literature rooted in Indian contexts. As part of this initiative, students participate in a series of engaging weekly reading activities that foster reading habits, literary appreciation, and creative expression.
This week's Character Conversation activity invited students to bring literary characters to life through imaginative dialogues. By stepping into the roles of their favourite characters, students demonstrated a thoughtful understanding of the stories, showcased their creativity, and strengthened their expressive communication skills. Their conversations offered fresh perspectives, transforming familiar narratives into lively and engaging exchanges.
The activity not only enhanced students' appreciation of literature but also nurtured confidence, imagination, and a lasting enthusiasm for reading and storytelling.
To make the transition from primary to middle school both engaging and meaningful, our Grade 6 students explored the chapter "The Leaf" through a creative leaf imprinting activity. Using natural leaves and vibrant colours, they produced beautiful leaf prints while closely observing the variety of leaf shapes, margins, sizes, and venation patterns.
This experiential activity brought classroom concepts to life, helping students strengthen their observation skills and develop a deeper understanding of plant morphology. By seamlessly integrating art with science, the activity sparked curiosity, reinforced conceptual learning, and encouraged students to appreciate the incredible diversity of nature. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn through exploration, fostering scientific inquiry, creativity, and confidence as they embarked on their middle school learning journey.
To bring the chapter "The Cell" to life, the Grade 8 PINNACLE classroom was transformed into an interactive Cell Museum. Students created detailed 3D models of various cell organelles and collaboratively designed a giant cell within the classroom, representing each organelle with creativity and scientific accuracy. They then conducted guided "Cell Tours," enthusiastically explaining the structure and function of each organelle to their peers.
This immersive learning experience extended beyond the textbook, helping students visualise complex concepts and deepen their understanding of cell biology. By taking on the roles of designers, researchers, and museum guides, students strengthened their communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills while building confidence through peer learning. The activity beautifully demonstrated that hands-on exploration and interactive learning make science both meaningful and memorable.
