Student Council Election at The Pupil Saveetha Eco School!

We are thrilled to share highlights from our Student Council election process for 2024-25, held on July 4th, 2024. This election is a key event in our academic calendar, offering students a platform to hone their leadership skills. Our committee of teachers guided candidates through a rigorous selection process, refining their abilities and understanding the community's expectations for student government. The final decision was made democratically by peers in a fair voting process.With 47 nominees from Grades 9, 11, and NIOS vying for 9 positions, excitement is in the air. Celebrating International Plastic Bag Free Day with Grade Two Students

This day highlights the environmental impact of plastic bags, urging individuals, communities, and governments worldwide to urgently reduce plastic pollution. It promotes conservation by advocating against plastic bag use and encourages eco-friendly alternatives. Second graders creatively transformed discarded T-shirts into tote bags, broadening their environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices.

Guest Lecture on Sustainability by Ms. Jayashree Kalyanaraman

On June 26, 2024, Ms. Jayashree Kalyanaraman, a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech specializing in carbon-dioxide capture technology, delivered an interactive lecture to Grade 5 students. She discussed climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, plastic pollution, and landfills. The session featured impactful videos on melting glaciers and walruses affected by receding sea beds. Emphasizing the three R's: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, Ms. Kalyanaram urged students to adopt sustainable lifestyle practices for a cleaner, greener future.
