To mark World Population Day, Our Grade 4 students engaged in a series of creative activities that focused on sustainability, global population, and equity. They designed thought-provoking posters on sustainable development, spreading awareness about environmental conservation and responsible living. Learners also explored the concept “If the World Were a Village of 100 People” using pie charts, bar graphs, illustrations, and journal reflections. This visual and reflective approach helped them grasp key ideas such as population distribution, global inequality, resource use, and fairness in a simplified, relatable manner. The activities enhanced their data interpretation, critical thinking, and empathy, aligning closely with global citizenship values and the IB learner profile attributes.

On 8th July 2025, the students of Grade 3 had the enriching opportunity to attend a guest lecture by Dr. Shamili, a dental surgeon and horticulture therapy specialist. The session was conducted as part of their Unit of Inquiry – Sharing the Planet. The session began with a thought-provoking question, “Where are we?”, which encouraged students to reflect on their place within the Earth’s ecosystem. Dr. Shamili facilitated an engaging and interactive discussion covering topics such as the diversity of life, the essential role of plants, the significance of ecosystems, and the balance of the food chain. She emphasized the urgent need to conserve natural resources and illustrated how small, everyday actions can significantly impact the well-being of our planet. The session concluded with a heartfelt Earth song and a pledge taken by the students to care for and protect the environment. This inspiring experience effectively bridged classroom learning with real-world values of sustainability, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

On July 11th, Grade 4 students had the privilege of attending an insightful guest lecture by Mr. Ram Palaniappan, a renowned anthropologist. Aligned with their Unit of Inquiry – Who We Are – the session explored how ancient artifacts reflect the beliefs and values that shaped early communities. From mummification rituals to symbolic tools, students discovered how history speaks through objects. This enriching talk connected past civilizations to present-day community values, leaving students inspired and reflective.

As part of their Unit of Inquiry “Who We Are,” which focuses on personal well-being, the students of Grade 5 visited Vivekananda House on July 5, 2025.During the visit, students explored the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, reflecting on key values such as self-awareness, inner strength, gratitude, and service to others. The experience offered meaningful insights into how spiritual well-being contributes to a balanced and purposeful life.This enriching educational trip provided a valuable connection between classroom learning and real-world experiences, inspiring students to begin their own journey toward mindfulness and personal growth.
